How We Roll
Albemarle Gravel and Wine (affectionately known as AGW) is a laid‑back, social cycling crew that loves good rides, good company, and good Virginia wine.
Whether you’re gravel-curious or like to push the wattage, this is the group for you.
Spin easy, drop the hammer, or just hang out with great people — our rides are no pressure and no drop. All paces welcome.
Cheers y’all!
Joy Equityjoy equity ˈjȯi eq·ui·ty ˈe-kwə-tē
1
a: Equal opportunity at joy in riding. Every rider enjoying themselves while riding at their own pace. Joy equity is not realized by helping people ride the same pace, but by creating the circumstances that allow all riders an equal opportunity to enjoy the ride.
Mindful of joy equity, she did not feel the need to keep up with the riders ahead of her, nor expect them to wait for her.
b: A feeling of happiness resulting from doing your own thing. Knowing that you are free and welcomed to ride the pace you want and feel great about doing it. AGW rides do not have a pace expectation, nor an expectation that we all ride the same pace.
That shit was a blast, what joy!
c: The experience or expression of such emotion in knowing that your fellow riders are enjoying themselves.
Seeing you happy on your bike gives me such joy.
